Cupe 2745 Collective Agreement 2016

April 9th, 2021

The collective agreement says a regular work week for EA is 36.25 hours, but McAllister said that most AAs in English-speaking districts only get 30 hours. That has changed. Through a pay equity agreement that CUPE 2745 negotiated with the New Brunswick government in 2016, Sandra, Dave and hundreds of other CUPE members who work as EEA, student assistants, administrative assistants, staff and rehabilitation assistants – mostly women – are getting significant pay increases. “You are the shield between the teacher and the violent child,” said Theresa McAllister, provincial president of CUPE Local 2745. Since the spring of 2016, he has not heard any appeal. As always, please contact your Local Shop Steward, Regional Vice President or Inner Executive for any questions or visit our CUPE 2745 Facebook page. CUPE Local 2745 Inner Executive Board Theresa McAllister, Provincial President Christianne Robichaud, Provincial Vice President Sherry Wilkins, Provincial Secretary, Marilyn MacCormack, Provincial Recordl Secreta CUPE Local 2745 Executive you and your families have taken our thoughts at this difficult time. “I thank both negotiating teams for reaching this agreement,” said Roger Melanson, President of the Ministry of Finance. “This demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that the government treats its employees fairly in accordance with the collective bargaining process.” CupE`s group of salary-capital specialists may be small, but they can have a significant impact on workers` lives – just ask Sandra and Dave and other CUPE 2745 members.

CUPE job Evaluation (JE) employees worked with CUPE 2745 and the employer to obtain this plan. While the process has taken many years, salary capital adjustments will be phased in with retroactive payments from 2012 and will continue for up to 10 years. These wage adjustments will significantly change the lives of some of the lowest paid and most undervalued workers. Between 2014 and 2016, WorkSafe`s Chief Compliance Officer reviewed eight complaints. She said the salary capital adjustment also increased wages from $17.99 $US in 2012 to $24.54 this school year. We recognize the stress and anxiety you feel during this time, but feel free to speak to your regional vice-presidents, Zone Shop Stewards, Inner Executive and/or your EAP if you feel the need to “you are not alone.”
